IL Pedasi Correspondent, Jim Gault and his wife, Abbe, started to desire an improved quality of life in 2013. In 2016, they finally completed their move from Naples, Florida to Pedasí, Panama full-time along with their pets. Jim was a highly accomplished pharmaceutical training expert and has consulted in the U.S., Ireland, and India. Jim left the U.S. for a better quality and slower pace of life, and to stretch the value of his dollar. His advice for anyone thinking of moving to Panama is, "Gather as much information as possible and absolutely travel to Panama to gain experience, first-hand knowledge, and find out if everything fits your expectations."

Pedasí is a small and very safe beach village located on the Azuero Peninsula, about 220 miles from Panama City. It’s home to around 300 expats. Within a few miles of the town center are three beautiful, mostly deserted beaches.

Karen and Benny Graves moved to Panama from Arizona. Benny’s main criterion for a destination outside the U.S. was to live by the beach as he was keen to get back to his childhood love of surf fishing. They both wanted to get away from scorching 120 degree days.
